We landed at half past two in the morning with my mother in a wheelchair and four suitcases. The driver was already inside the terminal with a name board. That one thing set the tone for the whole three weeks.

We planned our daughter's wedding in Ahmedabad from New Jersey. They visited every venue on our shortlist and sent honest video notes, including the ones they thought were wrong for us. We booked on their advice and did not regret it.

An Innova and the same driver for eleven days across Gujarat and Rajasthan. He knew the routes, he waited without being asked, and the hotels were exactly as described. I did not make a single arrangement myself after the first call.

Sixty of our guests flew in from Canada and the UK across four days. Every pickup, room and shuttle was handled by one coordinator. The decor took two rounds of changes to get right, and they absorbed that without making it our problem.

I visit four or five times a year and rarely plan more than a week ahead. One message and the car, the hotel and the table for the family dinner are arranged. That is the whole value of it for me.

Dwarka, Somnath and Ambaji with my in-laws, both in their eighties. The darshan timings were checked in advance, the driving was split over more days than I would have planned, and nobody was exhausted. That took real thought.
